Hello, Hello, Bryant & Pattengill families!!
I have recently switched my "Hello" song to this wonderful piece by Rosalia Schultz, a fellow music teacher in Michigan. This song uses an unusual unpaired meter (specifically, it is in 7/8 time), and it is in Mixolydian tonality. These kindergarteners are audiating tonal content (including resting tone and tonality), as well as audiating unusual macro and microbeats! Bryant & Pattengill have grown so much in just two short months. I am so proud of all of our students! We will be diving into Thanksgiving soon, and Thanksgiving songs and themes! I am so excited and cannot wait to share this music with all of my students as well as with you! Best, Ms. Kurilko P.S. The sniffles and sneezes are here and the music room is in desperate need of tissue donations! If you would like to donate a box or two of tissues, we would greatly appreciate it. Please send them to school with your child, labeled "Music," so that they end up in our room. Thank you so much!
