I wish we could be together in the music room, so I've decided to bring the music room to you! Click on the picture. It will take you to a website that looks the same as the picture, but with clickable links. The links are a combination of music websites, games, books, and videos. Some of them will be familiar, but a lot will be new! Explore the different links. Let me know which ones you like the best!

Hi 5th grade musicians!
Ludwig van Beethoven was a famous composer from Germany. We have listened to many of his compositions in music class, in boomwhacker videos, and some of you have even played his music before.. Google has a Beethoven Google Doodle where you organize portions of Beethoven's scores into the correct order. I played it on his birthday a few years ago, and had lots of fun! Here are the instructions: 1. CLICK HERE 2. Read about Beethoven: it will be his 250th birthday in December. 3. At the top of the page, click play on the Google Doodle. 4. As the story unfolds, you will need to put portions of the scores in correct order. You will not be able to continue on Ludwig's journey to the concert hall until you order the scores correctly. *Hint- the double bar line always goes at the end of the song* 5. As you solve each puzzle correctly, listen to each song. 6. When you are done, comment the name of your favorite Beethoven song on this post. Have fun! Love, Ms. Kurilko This is a song by another Michigan music teacher named Heather Shouldice. It's one of my favorites! Have fun audiating and singing the resting tone, as well as moving with flow. Tonality: Phrygian Meter: Usual Duple This week's activity involves the percussion of music. I have included three Musication videos below. The videos you see here are for percussion instruments. (They are made by the same people that make the Boomwhacker videos we do in class.) You'll notice that they sometimes give you body percussion options too (such as stomp, clap, or pat). Choose one of these videos and either use their suggested motions, or create your own. You choose the level of difficulty. You can either follow one shape/sign and only do the movement when you see that shape/sign, or choose more than one and see if you can remember what movement to do with each of them. When you finish, answer the questions below.
